Henger’s Ponds Inc. was started in 1998 after partners Aaron Scarlata and Steve Henger decided to venture into a more specific entity of the landscape. Having only garden product knowledge and little more than an inner liking of water gardening, Aaron and Steve built a large 35ft by 8ft wide pond inside their retail store. It was a success. The water feature was built to merely attract attention and recognition to the store- yet what developed from one pond started an unforeseen avenue of waterscaping.
Currently, Henger’s Ponds is the largest retailer and installer of water features in southern Ohio. Henger’s Ponds builds ponds with the understanding that nature is the paint, and we are painters. Residential and Commercial projects of all sizes are only a small portion of what makes up the business. Over the years Henger’s Ponds has seen the importance of offering quality pond products. In doing so, Henger’s Ponds not only offers superior equipment and filtration, but also high quality fish. April Nugent, general manager for Henger’s Ponds, brings to the table experience in animal care and an underlying desire to maintain excellent animal health. All of the fish, whether they are domestic or imports, are quality control tested, and under microscope prior to resale. Our 4,000 gallon above ground koi tank allows the most beautiful and playful ones to show off. Up and above the 6 indoor display ponds Henger’s Ponds will provide customers access to a self guided tour of more than 30 local ponds within 20 minutes of the store. Customers love us so much, if they are simply driving by, they “must stop and feed the fish” or sometimes just say hi to the Henger’s Ponds family.
